The Stations oft he Cross in glass

Introduction

1995 I started to work with glass. New ideas and attempts to reach perfection created my personal style. The mayor of my home village Bad Erlach, Mr. Johann Rädler, dep. To the Nat. Parl., offered me a chance to show both, expression and impact of glass on us human beings.

The actual form:

The stations are built of about 100 different pieces of glass which are connected to each other by tin and lead. A picture – a Station oft he Cross is born.

The spiritual thought:

Life on earth can be transformed dramaticaly by thoughts, actions or incidents. Human life can break just as easily like glass. The spiritual meening of each Station is obvious and established in the holy Bible. The 14 pictures, which lead us uphill tot he forest cemetery, show the Passion of Jesus Christ. We should not pass by absent minded because each Station couls also concern our own life. Let us think about our life and that of our fellow people and the dead whose graves we are going to visit.

These Stations oft he Cross might strengthen our faith and give us hope for a future life after death.
